Motibai RajaRam Mahavidyalaya
Motibai Rajaram Mahavidyalaya, Garautha was established in 2010 by Bundelkhand Panchayat Vikas Mandal (BPVM) in memory of Late Smt. Motibai Niranjan with the aim of providing education to the hitherto underserved areas of Garautha and nearby places of district Jhansi. It has commenced classes and is poised for excellent growth in the near future. Motibai, herself uneducated through the formal education system, was a firm believer in education as an enlightenment and as a path to progress, especially for girls. She believed that an educated region would lead to the transformation of the society in general, for the better. With education comes prosperity – thus she said.
MBR is one of the first colleges in the region to provide education in two streams – Arts and Commerce. Students would be enrolled in one of the degree programmes and would work towards their degree programme while simultaneously taking part in the many extracurricular activities and sports that would be planned for them. A computer facility has also been introduced which would help the students to get skills that are much needed in the modern era and would enable the name of Garautha and Jhansi move far and beyond the confines of the place. Both the programmes are affiliated to Bundelkhand University and run for three years. In addition to these programmes MBR also offers B.Ed which is recognized by NRC-NCTE and affiliated to Bundelkhand University.
MBR aspires to provide its students the best possible place for a comfortable study to all its students and a good place for research and teaching to its teachers. It is expected that the best possible discipline will be maintained by all concerned.
